I watched this film the other day and I really enjoyed it.  After seeing the first one I was keen to watch this one to follow the story of Aurora and Maleficent.

All is going well in fairyland until Aurora agrees to marry Prince Phillip.  Maleficent becomes insecure and scared about losing her goddaughter especially after attending a dinner where the mother of Auroras intended groom makes many faux pars.  Firstly she gives her metal to eat with and secondly offers her up poultry as a course.

Then the grooms mother (played by Michelle Pfieffer) manipulates the situation by playing to Maleficents insecurities to create a rift where she is is blamed for the king being struck down by an illness.

The queen tries to kill Maleficent and nearly succeeds until another of her kind rescues her and brings her into the fold.  Maleficent realises that more of her kind exists (the dark fey) and that they have been in exile.

The queen tries to kill all the fairies and Aurora realises that it has all been a plot to destroy the fairy world and the queens intention to take the moor lands.

A warn ensues and many are killed in the battle both human and fey.

I will not give away what happens in the end but I did really enjoy this film and must admit crying at one point!

I give this film 8 out of 10, it was great to escape into a distant land!
