Had a nice quiet relaxing day and ordered  nice lunch.

Beef korma - carne di vitello al curry di cocco con riso

Tasted quite nice.

I had that for my lunch.

Then I went for a walk and bought some ciggies.

Stressful journey felt sick all the way, soon as I got to the airport I threw my guts up.  Now have awful rushing in my ears and I'm sore as sun burnt.  So glad I'm at the airport!!

Had a nightmare of a journey back which I shall bore you all with tomorrow!!!!

Was so hungry as soon as I got in (soaking wet and grumpy) I fried some garlic onions and mushrooms and made some cous cous so now I'm sat in my bed very happy lol

Ok, the bus journey to the airport was a bit of a nightmare with lots of people around, no seats and lots of strange people pushing shopping trolleys around full of stuff and I don't even think they had even been shopping.  Far cry from the designer bags and models everyone seems to associate with Italy - no fashion week here!

Was ill once I got to the airport which was not great.

Then the plane was late taking off cos the Italians forgot to put petrol in the tank.

Got to Stansted late - missed my coach!

Had to get a train which cost over 11 quid and the money machine which gives you pounds for euros stitched me and stole my money - because of the late plane it then meant I then missed my bus from Cambridge home and had to pay 18 quid for a cab!!

So cost me an extra 30 quid to get home!!

Had to sit in the rain waiting but was so glad when I did finally get home!

My review of Hotel Apis, Rimini, Italy.

The staff are very nice and helpful and very polite.

The hotel is dated and my bed was uncomfortable and springs stuck in my back giving me a backache.

The bedsheets were also old fashioned and felt old to the touch as if they were the kind that you could never really ever get clean.

The breakfast was ok, I did get very bored of it after a couple of days as I do not eat cake for breakfast and the only savory items were ham and cheese. I missed beans and bacon but then I am English and I dont think any other English people come to this region or this hotel. Beans would have been a very nice addition as they often offered the odd egg and that would have been nice to have with toast. I think if you really do have a sweet tooth you are sorted here as they had jam tarts and other sugary treats. Not for me unfortunately being a savory person.

I think they could have had tea downstairs as I missed my afternoon/evening cup of tea so had coffee which although ok was often rather strong. I also think it would be nice if they catered for a light lunch/snack or maybe even have a menu for the evenings as I got fed up of having to go out to eat and having to order from Just Eat.

I did not pay very much for my stay at this hotel and I feel it was worth the money I paid but I wouldnt pay more due to the points I have already mentioned. The pool was lovely and had adequate seating areas and areas in the shade.

I was not keen on this area of Italy/Rimini so I would not return here again, that has no reflection on the hotel it was just the area.

I would not recommend English people come to this region, they dont appear to anyway so it is just as well. Some of the local bus drivers and supermarket staff are very rude and shoo you out of the shop. Some people are very polite though it is just a shame that so many Italians here appear to dislike anyone who speaks English. I was lucky I even got to the hotel the bus driver at the airport was so rude he practically had me in tears.

Apis Hotel - Nice hotel, lovely staff - rooms are cleaned every day to an excellent standard, food is a bit monotenous and sweet, but avoid this area if you are British and want an A-typical beach holiday. If you want to see how Italians really live away from the hype and nonsense lies from films about Italians and Italy then come to Rimini. It is not all gondolas and designer clothes like they lead you to believe!

Also I would not suggest lone female travellers come here either as a man followed me around the beach shop areas and then back to my apartment! He proceeded to ask if he could talk to me. I did not find that appropriate and as it was a very hot day I was wearing shorts - I do not believe that is any excuse for anyone to follow you.

I wont be going to Italy again. I have been assured that other parts of Italy are totally different but I have no interest in finding out.
